Augustine James
Founder & CEO
Augustine received her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Illinois State University in 1979 and later went on to obtain her Master's degree in Business Management from Fontbonne University in 2001. Augustine has over 40 years of experience in Social Services and Business Development. She has years of expertise in Training and developing curriculums, hosting community events, Community Outreach, and Networking. Her passions for the community stem from years of serving those suffering from substance abuse, neglect, homelessness, special needs, domestic or child abuse, and alcoholism.
Amaris Triplett
Vice President
Eldest Daughter to Augustine and eldest granddaugther to Celess, Amaris is also an East St. Louis, IL, Native. She currently holds three degrees, a BS in Psychology from McKendree University, and two Masters from Lindenwood University in School Counseling and Education Administration. Amaris has served as a Guidance counselor for over 10 years, working with SLPS, Cardinal Ritter College Prep H.S., and currently at East St. Louis Senior H.S. In addition to educational accomplishments, she is also a published Children's author. Amaris's compassion and expertise in Business Development, Management, and working with the Special Needs Community bring a unique skillset to our organization.


Marlene Coleman
Board Member
Marlene Resides in Saint Louis, MO and enjoys working with community in multiple facets. She is the CFO of Practically Perfect Wellness where she serves as a Motivational Coach, Personal Development Coach, And Wellness Coach. Marlene enjoys serving in the community and being a blessing to those in need.
Deborah Tolson
Board Member
Deborah Tolson works as a liaison for Celess Helping Hands by bringing over 40 years of expertise in Mental and Public Health to the community. Deborah has a Bachelors in Social Work from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL, and a Master's in professional counseling from Lindenwood University. Deborah worked for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for years until her retirement. In addition to her many accomplishments, she also finds joy volunteering to work with the homeless, mentoring and tutoring children, and donating food and personal goods to domestic violence shelters.
